Ms. Leanne Akemann

Hello!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Leanne Akemann and I have been a teacher with ISD 2142 since January of 1996. I have been fortunate to teach in the Babbitt/Northeast Range site the entirety of my employment with St. Louis County.

I am the youngest of 8 children, born and raised in Babbitt, MN, and a former graduate of John F. Kennedy High School (Babbitt-Embarrass). I received my AA Degree from Vermilion Community College, and my B.A./B.S. in Secondary Social Studies Education/History Degrees from Bemidji State University. There, I received the Outstanding Social Studies Student of the Year award (a.k.a. The Arthur O. Lee Award). I would return to BSU later to receive my MSED.

I am the mother of three wonderful children. I love to read, explore, travel, spend time with family and friends, play games, play with my dog, and learn. I have often said, if I could, I would be a full time student myself as there is so much that interests me.

If you need to get in contact with me, please send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
I look forward to working together as a team in the education of your child. laugh
