MCIS is a program to help students assess their strengths, needs for improvement, research careers and find schools for after high school. Each student has an account and can be access at mncis.intocareers.org.Student logins are their student email address. The passwords are the same as for their email. Please contact Mr. Lindsay or Joan Kjorsvig for additional information.

Scholarship Application Directions

Put completed applications in appropriate file in the counselor’s office by April 15, 2015.

  1. Fill out one application for each scholarship that you are applying for.
  2. Be sure to type the name of the scholarship on the application.
  3. All applications must be typed.
  4. Give your teachers and community members at least two weeks to write their letters of recommendation.
  5. Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria prior to completing the application.
  6. Complete both essays.
  7. If you do not know how to construct a resume contact the counselor or consult MCIS.
  8. Staple application, resume and letters of recommendation together.
    (do not use paper clips or envelopes)

Local Northeast Range Scholarships

American Legion Scholarship – Maki-Pinola Post #535

This scholarship is available to any senior boy or girl enrolling in a vocational school or college.

Babbitt-Embarrass Women’ Club Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college.

Babbitt Lions Club Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to four year college or an accredited vocational school or technical college. One scholarship is given to male senior and one scholarship is given to a female senior.

Babbitt Men’s Club Golf Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college.

Jay Mattila Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any graduating senior going to college or technical college. It is given in memory of Jay Mattila by his parents.

Lake Country Power Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college and the student, parent or guardian must be a member of Lake County Country Power. A 3.0 GPA is required.

Northeast Range Faculty Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college.

Babbitt Steelworkers Credit Union

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college.

 The Gay-9-Tees Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or vocational school.

The Tower Fireman’s Relief Association Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any senior going to college or technical college. The student must have a 2.5 GPA or better and reside in either Tower, Greenwood township, Soudan, Kugler Township, Vermilion Lake Township or Eagle’s Nest Scholarship.
